I am a resident in Florida and have been since 1980.
I am retired, sit here on my laptop and have fun trading stocks, I watch CNBC and my local news on and off when I'm not having fun with my wife, beaches, bowling, shopping, Hooters, beach bars etc.
Florida will legalize marijuana down the road.
For everyone that thinks Florida legalized it this past weekend, well you are wrong.
Rick Scott our current governor has agreed to a low low low THC MJ derivative for medical purposes only.
The grower or nursery that will get approval to grow this weak MJ hybrid has to have already been in business for a minimum of 30 years. That means right off the bat only 27 nurseries in Florida qualify.
Then the grower has to put up a $5 million bond.
Then the grower has to construct a separate structure that the hybrid has to be grown in exclusively.
Several nursery owners that have been interview have already stated they will pass since the upfront costs will be close to $10 million out of pocket.
These guidelines were a condition for the governor Rick Scott to sign the bill.
Why, because Mr. Scott is against MJ in this state, he has already been quoted numerous times to that effect.
In November when the election is held for our Governor, Charlie Crist is running against Scott. Crist was our former governor before Scott as a Republican and is now running as a democrat.
Mr. Crist has worked for Morgan & Morgan Law firm here in Florida since he left office as our governor.
The owner of the Law Firm, John Morgan has been spending millions on pushing for marijuana here because his father died in agony since MJ was not legalized.
It does not take a rocket scientist to realize if Mr. Crist, currently in Morgan's back pocket, becomes governor in Florida, marijuana will be abundant here.
I know, penny stock players are impatient and want to be rich now.
I am only pointing out here do not expect Florida to be the next Colorado in the short term.
I am not going out on a limb here by saying this kind of information is what a Warren Buffet would consider before jumping in with both feet at this time.
