ajtj, is your conclusion based on the last 3 years of $bpndx, the longest period displayed to SC freeloaders, or does your observation cover a longer period? Those 82% peaks are neatly cut at the top, like my lawn will be tomorrow.
With the benefit of a 20/20 hindsight perspective, also called back-testing, can you say if it is, together with $bpcompx, a leading or a lagging indicator vs. the prices? by how much? While moving averages are obviously a perfect lagging indicator and don't predict anything other than can be seen with a naked eye, I wonder if those $bps reflect a bit more of a premonition, even if the sign were wrong. <g>
