Actually it is doubtful that the merger will even happen. Look at the history of the company and you will see that RMs don't go through even after they are announced. Long time shareholders can vouch for that huh? ;-) But most likely they will just keep quiet.
New investors are unaware of that history so you may see another spike or two before they realize the deal is not going to happen. Thanks for the "DD" though ;-)
