YHOO and AOL can both be added to the potential IFON buyer list. Just as with FB and TWTR, an IFON acquisition would offer the buyer an opportunity to spread their reach in both the hardware and software markets in a very cost-effective manner. Later one would potentially see a reverse expansion into app libraries leading to competition with GOOG + AAPL.
The other interesting way to understand who the economics of a takeover appeal to are the cable carriers. As handsets become smarter, increasingly consumers are starting to "cut the cable" entirely. You see this trend especially pronounced in the younger demographics (who happen to be the biggest handset buyers).
