Peg -- the hate crime charges just put an extra exclamation point on it -- and give a back-up path to up to a life sentence in the event a jury lets him off on the murder charges (which I'd like to think is beyond possibility in this instance) -- there actually have been some questioning whether the hate crime charges should even apply in this instance because he screwed up and killed only Christians, rather than Jews as he intended (. . .)
