A newspaper article starts with a heading, followed by a date and then facts or substance. Personal opinions are place in an Editorial.
A Legal Brief begins with a heading, followed by date and then facts of the case. Finally, the last part of the Brief contains opinions and personal discussion.
For reasons of clarity (read in here, fair and honest presentation) each section is clearly indicated.
I would love to see posters take a more organized approach to the dissemination of facts and presentation of their interpretation and opinion. E.g., if an article is posted, it would be nice to put the date of the article at the beginning of the article. If it’s a reprint, state at the beginning that it is a reprint. Otherwise it looks a lot like pumping.
Hopefully no one will take this to extremes, but even that might be a welcome change to the interspersion of fact and conjecture, which has run rampant of late.
