I think both films were brilliant pieces of work, but Crash gets the edge because of the message..Powerful and well deserved.
I think it's so stupid for anyone to blame anti gay reasons for Brokeback not winning. In my opinion it did and at the same time the academy recognized an outstanding film about race relations..
