The Canadian Medical Association is warning their members about the risks of prescribing medical mj because there are no long term studies as to its use on either side effects or effectiveness, and the dosages and quality are not controlled and consistent from supplier to supplier and doctors are not sure how to prescribe dosages based on need. What is effective for one patients needs may be far too much for a different patient with the same disease. But this is more about liability than concerns about over medicating or under medicating.
