When the President of France visited GWB right after 9-11 he handed GWB a secret report authored by one of those individuals. France was the first country to visit us and started to turn over much information about Al Qaeda. These aren't unsubstantiated reports. PBS did a documentary about John O'Neil and he gave much of the information he had to these authors and is widely quoted in their book.
