I hesitated in my response to your post because I had conflicting feelings in that regard.
My ol' man was a fundamentalist holy roller ass kickin' preacher. In his zeal to introduce me to Christianity, he literally beat any religion out of me. Yet, over many, many years, I came to understand that he cared, in his own way, and was trying to bring me to an understanding and a belief such as you express.
He thought if one was a Christian, had accepted Christ as you have said you believe, that one should never put that belief aside, or that thought aside, even in the most dire circumstances.
I then wonder about those who are able to compartmentalize their business, their family, their profession, and their religion and yes, keep them separate.
It appears that the discussion is, or is about to become moot ~ as Matt had indicated that his vote is to "whack 'em" in regards to signatures.
IMVHO, and lots of emphasis on the very, I think he is correct. He doesn't want to clutter up any of the boards with his members expressions of politics, religion, or philosophy in general and since he agrees somewhat that "either toast 'em all or toast none of 'em" is the most fair to everyone. I suppose he'll eventually "whack 'em".
