However, I also agree with Matt. If you allowed people to post political and/or religious views in the signatures, you would have nothing but constant wars. As much as someone may want (and I appreciate it) to express their religious views as part of their signature, everyone could wants to express something in their signature that would PO other people. Since religion and politics are GUARANTEED to be divisive, I don't see that he has any other choice.

I presume one could set up a separate board for that discussion and then have an unopinionated link to it as their signature. That might be a compromise.
