I might have added your response was a classic example of a "straw man" argument, Spall. Why didn't you just ask me, "Well, what IS the moral justification?"

Because I have shown that the actual "right" is determined arbitrarily by the government, not by any concept of morality. Now this may be a good thing for society, but not necessarily a moral issue.
