Next step compare the valuation of rdn to mtg to see what a pure play mi company is worth. (note that rdn's mi business is smaller than mtg).
If you do this comparison one can see that( sycrf's portfolio at let's say $5 ) would be a cheaper buy than probably what radian would want for their business. Now how can any proposed merger preserve the 3 billion in tax loss ?
