Spall, if you just sneak into the theater via the exit door without paying for movie no. 1, and watch a movie, you also haven't "harmed" anyone by your logic.

Correct, just as if you download an mp3 of a song you were not planning on buying, you are not harming anyone either. Remember, the sole justification for intellectual property rights is a cost-benefit analysis of pragmatism, and if you are not withholding revenue from the creater, you are not causing any harm.
