I have been on the BLEEDING EDGE OF TECHNOLOGY many times and it's not a pleasant place to be. After extensive development and testing, almost all of the machines I worked on had bugs that had to worked out after deployment. Complex machines in an environment where the machines in every state have to be unique to conform to that states' requirements requires a lot of technical refining.
