I agree totally w/the fact that Putin believes the downfall of the Soviet Union was a tragic error, but I don't think he wants to reconquer Eastern Europe, he is trying to set up trading alliances with them just as we've done w/NAFTA etc.

I don't believe there's Putin error in Ukraine, it's his rightful place to defend his borders and if it means going into Crimea, then it is justified in my opinion. Again, we would not sit back and let Mexico unravel, we'd send in troops faster than Putin.

My only bewilderment, why did Obama allow Nuland into Kiev to disrupt the place? Why didn't he speak out against insane McCain inteferrng in Kiev? There's a split in policy here and I don't know who's in control. I truly hope the neo-cons are not in control of the State Dept., but it looks like it.

Obama is not for war, but the neo-cons must be holding a stick over Obama's head, maybe the mid-term elections would be destroyed if he didn't go along (AIPAC). Something is amiss here.
