It might be more reasonable to use the share float number to calculate that. In their 1/27/14 Letter from the CEO, they noted the active share count is 2,110,679,152. Divide by 175 we get 12,061,023, and multiplied by .2 we get $2,412,204.6 that they would have to payout. But point taken, it is a strange move. It seems clearly to be harmful to the business to unnecessarily give away so much when you are engaged in building the business.

Maybe the insiders want a dividend and this is away of doing it. I think this is partly explainable by Kerry's apparent hyper-competitive nature and wanted to "show" the doubters and come through for the supporters. If they don't come through they will lose longtime supporters and they don't seem indifferent to that. I am still on the fence with PVEC, but will probably bet a little on it.
