FWIW i read an unemployment breakdown by an economist that argued we are actually now at levels equal to or beyond 1982 period regards actual unemployment, he based this on the fact that there has been a major increase in the prison population and for the number of people now on disability .
He adjusts for those factors and came out at between 8-9% present unemployment.
