Larson1, your post got me thinking.
I have had numerous experiences with stocks that got shot out of the saddle with negative market commentary by popular pundits, or hit piece articles such as the recent SA article.
Fortunately, I always did research before investing. Problem has been instead of upward momentum I experienced short-term losses.
In similar cases, I have seen it take a month or more for the stock to undo the damage done. To date, I have yet to lose long-term. Not to say there won't be a first time.
I always get a little pi__ed when the news being used to bring the stock down is really old news. After all, I was aware of it. Wasn't the news already factored into the share price??? Opportunists using the bully pulpit to enrich themselves (short term).
Truth, I have benefited as much from surprise pieces that benefit my position as detract from it.
Truth, I have learned to adapt to bad news and events. I actually am way up since the SA article. Not intentional, but one learns to react to events.
Truth, I like some high risk investments. I have been invested in more than my share of stocks which have been in the daily list of biggest gainers or losers. My percent gainers to losers is getting better over time.
