To follow up on that thought (lack of leadership from the DOW): since the 3/12 bottom, only six of the NDX stocks have gone down, and only three have gone down over one percent. In the SPX, it's even more extreme, with only 24 dropping, 18 dropping by more than 1.5%.

Just a guess, but I'd say this is a rally created by massive buying of the QQQ's and SPY's. Whether that somehow makes the rally "phoney" or not, I have no idea...
