Actually, I do think there is a good chance the world will be coming to an end relatively soon. I have no idea when it will be (only God knows that), and I could be wrong and it could well be hundreds or thousands of years before it happens. That said, I would not be at all shocked to see it happen in my lifetime.
As for the tax breaks, the tax cuts are for everyone who pays taxes, not just the rich ($200,000/yr is nice, but hardly qualifies as rich). Those who do not make much money pay no taxes, so it is kinda hard to cut their taxes, while the vast majority of all personal income taxes are paid by those who make over $200,000 per year - why should tax cuts not be slanted dollar wise more toward those who pay the most?
I might add that I am not a big proponent of the tax cuts, but I can certainly see where he is coming from. If taxes are not cut, congress has long since proved that they will spend all the money that is available plus some. I would much rather cut taxes than see such ridiculous programs funded as "wool supports" and other such nonsense waste and pork spending.
