"1.) I was speaking of cuts to Vet benefits - not gov't spending abuse."
Check my post - that is what I was referring to.
----------
"2.) When GWB waves the flag and praises our brave servicepeople for protecting us from one of the Axis of Evil, yes, I believe he cannot then go behind closed doors and cut their future benefits. That's not being honest. But then, was he honest with us regards reason(s) to invade Iraq? I maintain he was not."
I think you are entirely misreading what Bush is doing and point of my post was that the cuts being proposed are not harmful to those who need the benefits. Why do liberals who have always voted against every bill to support our military all of a sudden whine at what he is doing?? Pure politics.

"3.) Experimental procedures for Vets? Not sure what you refer to - again, I'm talking about Vet benefits."
Again, so am I -- Part of the "cuts" are to no longer pay for expensive but unproven medical procedures. bringing the VA in line with all privately insured programs.

"The Reps have to get over WJC - he's a great target, but he's not running in '04."
Praise the Lord.

"If you agree with the proposed cuts to Vet benefits, that's fine. I prefer GWB be more up-front regards what he has in mind for our servicepeople while he is simultaneously waving the flag and praising them."
You need to check and see exactly what those cuts are before griping about them. I have zero problems with Bush in that area but would be one of the first to attack him if I thought he was causing harm to vets who needed help. Bush is head and shoulders above any Democratic president (clinton and carter) in recent memory in his support of the military, and the military will be the first to tell you so.
