Popt: What does the fact that MFR (the real patent trolls) is filing frivolous patent lawsuits against companies that use QR codes and services provided by NeoMedia, who was granted the license rights to use and offer w/ their services the very MFR patent MFR is claiming infringement of by those companies, tell us about our investment in NeoMedia?

I don't know, Popt, why don't you tell us?

The MFR patent lawsuits against companies that use NeoMedia's services (NeoSphere, etc.) and thereby are covered under patents created by, owned by NeoMedia and licensed to NeoMedia (including LoyaltyPoint (owned), Scumbye (licensed to for FREE) and MFR (license to for FREE) are indeed, frivolous.

They are frivolous because, just take the case of Wendy's...Wendy's is not in violation of infringing MFR's patent because Wendy's is covered and protected by using NeoMedia's NeoSphere platform which is covered and protected because MFR had to give NeoMedia free use of it (inherently now part of NeoMedia's service offerings) and that is the very patent MFR is now trying to win suit against Wendy's by claiming their infringement of it.

What!?

Yeah...

Frivolous.

It's even more hilarious when you really read closely the PR MFR and Scumbye put out on the subject:

http://www.scanlife.com/news/scanbuy-and-marshall-feature-recognition-team-to-educate-industry-on-how-to

“Some companies who provide QR Code services are claiming they have a license from MFR where none exist. That’s not stopping Non Practicing Entities, NPEs (trolls) from suing firms to force a settlement through threat of high legal fees.”

MFR is the embodiment of an NPE (or better put as MFR refers to themselves as, "trolls").

NeoMedia is not just claiming but rather DO have a license from MFR (did I mention, free of charge? wink). Wendy's has partnered w/ NeoMedia to be their exclusive provider of QR code services via the NeoSphere platform which, again, any user of NeoMedia's NeoSphere 2D barcode services platform(s) is inherently covered under all patents that NeoMedia created, owns and/or have licensed to them for use.

It's so apparent that MFR strong-armed Scumbye years ago to be their vehicle to chauffer them to court in. A feeble attempt to not appear as what they are. They are the ones that turned Scanbuy into Scambuy into Scumbye. Too bad for them they hitched their horse to such a creature.

No doubt, I think most see right through them for what they really are.

lns

p.s. - Scumbye is nothing much at all w/o MFR pulling their strings. Just search, "xxx patent infringement suit" and substitute "xxx" w/ "Scanbuy" and what do you get? zilch. Now do the same but w/ "MFR" substituted for "xxx" and what do you get? Yup, we all get the picture and the sound is coming through loud and clear.
