If I were a content provider, the only way I'd want to limit my market to VIIV-owners-only is if I was being paid to do so...


It's not content that is brand new, just content that hasn't been available yet for download on the PC (except maybe illegally). If you read some of the press releases of Viiv last month, you'd see a number of content providers willing to offer their content for the first time online. DirectTV is willing to offer movies online, NBC is willing to broadcast the Winter Olympics, MTV is willing to offer music videos, etc. Intel did the heavy lifting to enable these content providers and solve their security issues, so they will have the ability to offer this content exclusively on their network. It's that simple.
