Are the stories that the Iraqi people are relaying about starvation, torture, rape, and murder trumped up?

no. but that is not a threat to our national security as deplorable as it is. and no, I don't believe the main reason we went there was to "free" Iraqi's.

It wouldn't be the first time if evidence was planted by our government... like the incident that was drummed up as an excuse to escalate the Vietnam conflict.
