OT: Noisy ads

I not trying to bring this to IHub attention. They have their business plan.

Anytime you don't like anything, it should be brought to our attention. As a business, it's important what our customers think of us and we always want to hear how we can improve things. Most improvements happen because of customer feedback.

That said, we've had a problem before with noisy ads. We don't allow them or pops. But we rely heavily on agencies for ad inventory, so sometimes someone at an agency will screw up and put an ad into our mix that we don't approve of.

The next time you get one of those, do me a favor. Wave your mouse over the ad and see if anything changes in the Status Bar at the bottom of your browser. If it does, note the first part of the URL it's displaying down there and PM it to me (free members can always PM me or Matt).

I'm suspecting it might not display anything, though. I think Flash is the only way to get sounds into ads, and those don't display a destination URL on mouseovers.

If that's the case, just describe the ad for me and I'll try to find it. Once I know which agency it's coming from, they'll get a pissed-off email from me and the ad should be removed from the mix quickly.
