I used the example of Teddy Roosevelot to demonstrate that it's not a matter of liberal vs. conservative or republican vs democrat, at least not for me. It's a matter of integrity... of being born into wealth and power but not being seduced by it. The Bushs are a well known and powerful family with close ties to the oil industry. Cheney was VP of Halliburton and there are ties with the admin to Enron as well (i.e. that recent bit about White). And why won't Cheney release the documents about the energy summit?
Anyway, I'm sure many politicians have accepted contributions and have been swayed by special interests. It's another reason I used Teddy as an example, he was not bought or owned by anyone and did what he felt was right regardless.
As for my "defending" of Clinton, all I said was that his act was personal and that I did not approve of his lying. That is NOT a defense.
Like I say - a bit of objectivity would help.
