GOJO U.S. Army Expands Use of GO-Global from GraphOn; Army Purchases 1,500 Additional Licenses for Remote Field Access to Global Command and Control System
Business Wire - February 13, 2006 12:00
SANTA CRUZ, Calif., Feb 13, 2006 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- GraphOn Corp. (OTCBB:GOJO), a leading developer of cross-platform application publishing and Web-enabling solutions, today announced that the U.S. Army has purchased an additional 1,500 licenses of the company's GO-Global for UNIX software solution. This purchase adds on to the 550 licenses purchased by the U.S. Army in the second quarter of 2005.
GO-Global for UNIX provides instant network-based or Web-based remote access to existing UNIX and Linux applications from any worldwide location, platform or operating system. The thin-client, server-centric solution eliminates the need to modify applications, run local X Server software, or deploy additional, complicated infrastructure.
"GO-Global fully meets our needs for rapid, secure and robust access to the Global Command and Control System-Army (GCCS-A)," said LTC Rachel D. Borhauer, product manager, GCCS-A.
For strategic Army commanders, GCCS-A provides readiness, planning, mobilization and deployment capabilities. For theater commanders, it provides a common operational picture, friendly and enemy status information, force employment planning and execution tools, and overall interoperability with joint, coalition and the tactical Army Battle Command Systems (ABCS).
"GO-Global's strong encryption and data-compression technologies make it an excellent solution for UNIX application connectivity over bandwidth-limited or congested lines," said Mike Ruggeri, GraphOn's regional sales manager. "Our unique server-centric architecture assures that all applications and mission-critical data remain secure behind the firewall. GO-Global has enabled the U.S. Army to eliminate expensive UNIX client workstations from its architecture."
With GO-Global for UNIX, only the application's user interface is transmitted to remote devices in the field. All transmissions are fully secured using 256-bit AES encryption technology.
As previously announced, GO-Global for UNIX has also been purchased by the U.S. Marines and the U.S. Air Force. GO-Global's server-based technology is rapidly becoming a standard for many U.S. defense agencies. "GO-Global is playing an increasingly vital role in the DoD's ongoing transformation to provide military personnel with a near real-time picture and data of the battle space," concluded Ruggeri.
