Umm, show me where I said IBM doesn't do demos. Or AMD for that matter. In fact, I mentioned that AMD demo'd first silicon K8 just days after Elmer swore they haven't taped out.

Sure, they do demos, both public and private. They don't necessarily do public demos of every product well ahead of introduction. There is really no basis to claim that just because AMD hasn't been doing public demos of quad core they haven't been doing private ones either. Nor does it mean they don't have them. And it certainly doesn't mean they haven't taped anything out. Now true, it may be that none of those things have occurred. But lack of public demos or press conferences waving wafers around doesn't prove anything.
