But they have a lot of Intel based servers today including Atom, Xeon with a smattering of AMD Opteron and fairly low MSS. Granted AMD Opteron use will increase but SeaMicro with it's existing Freedom fabric was purchased for 334 million. The fabric technology is defintely there but now you are going away from X86 and all the ready made management software and tools and mature compilers. They take a step back when they move to ARM in many respects. Thought it is better and faster than the first gen Atom product they released it now needs to be validated for enterprise on an entirely recompiled OS and programming and has to overcome a very entrenched incumbent. Those of us who watched Intel slog through the 90s to win server MSS know the many many factors that make Enterprise wins difficult.
