Would you believe it was legionnaires disease? or so they think.. Apparently, 2 weeks before he got ill he was vacationing in Vermont and spent several hours in a hot tub.. He has a problem with digestion, and it causes him to regurg his food after each meal.. Apparently the doctors made this connection that the moisture that rises from the hot tub was ingested and delivered via this food into his system and thats where it came from.
Seems amazing they can track it with such accuracy but ill take the doctors word for it. Unfortunately the only setback was he has noticed his memory and thought process has been slowed a bit.. The doctors are hopeful that this passes with time but a small price to pay for a near death experience.
Of course as fate would have it this seems to be the year our family is going to be hit with all the bad news. Out of the blue, 2 months ago my mom started getting rashes. Turns out she now has full blown Lupus. In a matter of 2 weeks she now has a kidney infection, high blood pressure that has now taken away most of her eyesite, and arthritis so bad she can barely climb stairs.. Can you believe it?? I certainly cant..
Sorry to depress you.. With the good news comes the bad.. and since all the prayers some of you folks sent my way for my brother in law worked so well I figured it wont hurt to try directing some towards my mom. She has devoted her entire life to the church/her faith, and unfortunately now she feels she has done everything and at 68 it would be a blessing for God to take her.. Unfortunately I dont agree with her and I am not ready to give her up.. Im just stunned at how fast this disease has attacked her system.. There is hope that it goes into remission but given that nobody really has a clue what causes it to 'attack' it seems like a coin toss at this point.
Sorry.. didnt mean to lay that on you.. Life is sure a funny funny thing. Just keep those prayers coming.
