Re: it's AMD who blew the whistle!

In other words, AMD tips off the Korean trade commission to check up on Intel. They ask for some documents, Intel complies, and then AMD launches a press release spinning the operation as a "raid" and pointing the finger as if it were proof of guilt. Yeah, that would be a slimeball thing to do, but on the bright side, it gives Intel plenty of ammo to fire back at AMD in front of a judge. Intel could build a case on AMD's mud-slinging strategy alone, so you have to wonder why AMD would shoot themselves in the foot with what would be obvious to most people as a low-blow PR stunt.

That of course brings us back to my earlier point (and one which others share over here) that AMD knows they have a losing battle, but somehow believe that the PR aspects are worth it. It might be something along the lines of the Pentium FDIV problem. It was horrible PR for Intel, but PR nevertheless, and some people claim it made Intel famous. Perhaps AMD just wants to be famous, even if they intend to throw the case with idiotic PR moves.
