According to OTCShortReport, about 1.8M shares represented short volume on HRTPY (US) in the last 21 sessions. No info for CA or BR. Frankly, there are still a lot of people betting against MM and management/market/Brazil/E&P companies generally, etc. Since I have never sold HRT, I am a real koolaid drinker, and I am probably not opening my eyes to what is really happening.

You asked about the source of stock, and so, some clearly remains short sellers.

One problem with short sellers is that they can be part of a market manipulator's tool chest to move the market up/down/sideways, which can enable large accumulations at low prices near the bottom.

This may be happening now.
