Well they aren't.

For example, say I own a store and lose money at that store, It goes bankrupt. But say I own a Car wash also and it makes billions. Two different businesses, same management. Now the people who invested in the store with me lose money but the people who invested in the car wash make money. So no, they are two different companies with two different stocks. Investing in one is not the same as investing in the other.
