Wise choice. While the 6502 had some strangeness associated with it, like the IX and IY registers wrapping at 256 byte boundaries and the documentation that was often flat wrong ("Hmm, the manual says this happens on this intruction, but it doesn't"), the 6809 was one real nice processor. The Intel 4 bit processors will always be known because they got there first, and the 8008 because it actually was possible to build a desktop computer out of it, albeit one that most people wouldn't recognize as a computer these days...
