It just looks like a whole lot more than scrambling the recognizable blocks of each functional unit. You really should take a gander at the images - the changes seem quite profound. Comparing all the various Athlons to each other yields virtually no differences. Yes, the smallest recognizable blocks are moved around a bit, but everything is still pretty much there, just reorganized a bit. This is most certainly not the case with Opteron. It looks very different.
