Fyo, I found this document, which highlights some of the architectural aspects of Centrino. Some of it is pretty interesting. I learned a few things myself.
As for more information on micro-ops fusion, it is used to reduce the number of micro-ops that go through the execution resources by about 10%. This reduces power and improves performance. I couldn't find the technical data that explains exactly how this works, but I remember seeing it at one time. I will look more later.
