Lincoln, I pretty much agree with dreamonjon's recollection of the meeting with Sony.
It was a meeting intiated by Sony, MRNJ came in and talked to them, but no deal of any kind was struck. However, the door was left open to something potentially in the future. In no blogs was a touting of "deal" promised.
As for Crackle, I gather Sony licenses their considerable library of content to many sources.
Regarding Appflix, as I understand it, the holdup boils down to two things IMO, the now resolved dispute with Showtime on use of the Name and management's desire to obtain top tier content before releasing it.
In the meantime or in parallel, they have allocated their reosurces towards getting other Apps that are less work intensive but are immediate income makers out the door.
As evidenced by recent info in blogs, the AppFlix App appears to be raised in priority on the MRNJ to-do list. Seems to me, that the necessity to get it out with the content they have it taking precedence over having higher level content right now. Funding and acquiring high level content IMO, probably go hand in hand.
