For Microsoft, it would kill any reasons for developers to port their Apps to Windows as customers could just run them on Android. I think that Google loses hardware sales to Windows machines - they want people buying Chromebooks and Android systems.

Of course if you buy a Mac, you can run Windows, Linux and Android and Microsoft seems perfectly happy with that as they get full retail operating system license sales.
