success: That is correct. What is different with the '750 is the way the image is captured.

In the '750 patent, a barcode is only a dependent claim to their image recognition claims.

This IR capture is a growing trend in barcodes that moves away from processing a code by "scanning" it. Instead, it uses a brute force method to match the image.
