Or your definition of a thief.

To me a thief is someone who knowingly takes something of value that doesn't belong to them. Someone who uses a cable signal that is piped onto their property (without their permsision I might add) may be stealing the signal... but they aren't necessairily a thief.

Put it this way, if someone mails you something you didn't order you are under no obligation to pay for it... and it sure doesn't make you a thief if you refuse to pay.

Does it make you a thief if you refuse to return what was sent to you? Well, not under the law. Morally, however, you should return whatever was sent (provided it was sent in good faith).

If AT&T want's their signal back they can have it.
