The Anadarko Basin will be the single-largest investment region for Newfield Exploration in 2014. The coming year’s capex of $1.6 billion is essentially flat with the prior year, but investment in the Anadarko Basin almost doubled. Newfield allocated $360 million to the area in its 2013 spending plan but ramped it up to $700 million for 2014, amounting to 44% of total spend from last year’s 25%.
