That does sound like a sweet setup.

Part of the thrill is the chase though. I tried to mentally visualize the underwater structure and how the fish were relating to it. If you want a good example of how fish activity levels affect how far away they will hang out from cover in different light conditions, watch a flock of chickens. It amazes me when I see it, how much they are like fish. The chickens will even stay in shade, to venture out away from the bushes. On cloudy days, they are more prone to standing out in the open. On sunny days, they are generally close to some sort of cover, and only venture out for food. The stray will wander out, just like fish, but if you want the numbers, follow the crowd.
