Boeing-BA CEO says probably won't get as many commercial orders in 2006-Reuters

07:05 EDT Boeing-BA may not be at end of upward cycle yet-WSJ
According to the "Heard on the Street" column, the top executives at Boeing are arguing that the company is only in the middle of an upward cycle, not at the end of one. Although the company is only expected to bring in about half of the orders it did last year, years of cost cutting have made the company's assembly lines more efficient. And even without taking any new orders, the estimated value of Boeing's existing order book is around $120B. Also, the aging fleets of the mainline carriers will need to be replaced some time over the next year or two, which could "extend the company's business cycle to the end of the decade."
