mac, this post addresses this part of your post -

imagine what happens if they truly do have disruptive technology... wow, just wow!!!

I was wary of GLASSWARE 2.0's uniqueness and ability to disrupt before this information came to light -

1) van released his OnCloud9 Research Report with a buy recommendation - excerpts -

We think this software platform has the potential to be VERY Big.
But don’t take our word for it, the highly respected business consulting firm of Frost & Sullivan just placed Sphere 3D’s technology at the forefront with VMWare (VMW market cap $37B) and Citrix (CTXS market cap $13B).

Sphere 3D technology delivers fully featured third party software and digital products, to ANY Cloud connected device independent of its operating system. Their enterprise software lets ANY device and any OS use ANY software program when connected to the Cloud. Sphere 3D’s Glassware solves this very Big compatibility problem for a very Big wave... Cloud Computing.

2) From Frost & Sullivan Report -

Recognizing the need to allow for the consolidation of digital devices and application ecosystems, Sphere 3D has created its patent pending “Glassware™2.0”ultra-thin client technology that allows for the ubiquitous access to third party software on any Cloud connected device, independent of the user’s operating system or the local device’s hardware limitations.
Through Sphere 3D’s technology, end users can experience the full features and functionality of digital products on most devices, without the inherent time, space and compatibility issues of downloading software on to their systems.

Sphere 3D’s Glassware 2.0 has the following primary value propositions within its business model:
Consumers can gain complete access to fully functional software versions, allowing PC productivity software to be made available on a variety of Cloud connected devices. Users can do more than just surf or “view” documents on tablets, smartphones or other connected devices – they can create, modify and save, either locally, on their device, or in the Cloud;

Software Developers can expand software revenue streams to new platforms, without having to develop multiple versions of their software applications. Glassware 2.0 thin-client technology eliminates the need for customization that is required due to the proliferation of device capabilities and operating systems.
Enterprise Clients can provide safe, secure mobile access to their legacy applications, without the expensive customization and inherent time and capability trade-offs required by rewrites to the Cloud. With Glassware 2.0, the enterprise’s employees or business partners simply use Sphere 3D’s ultra-thin client technology to access the enterprise’s systems, through their own devices or company provided equipment and the enterprise’s own network security protocols will apply without having to make further modifications on the actual devices.

In the Addressable Market Scores, Sphere 3D scores the highest because of the performance it delivers and the extensive compatibility it offers:

•Sphere 3D is the only solution where the connectivity occurs in around 3 seconds whereas other solutions take minimum of 50 seconds or more.

•Sphere 3D is the only solution where the server side is compatible with any OS (E.g. Android, iOS, Windows) due to its agnostic nature, while other solutions are compatible only with Windows
.

3) Overland Storage PR-

Overland Storage and Sphere 3D Deliver Revolutionary Technology Enabling Secure Access to Native Applications and Data Management on Any Device

SAN DIEGO, CA and MISSISSAUGA, ON -- (Marketwired) -- 07/16/13 -- Overland Storage (NASDAQ: OVRL), the trusted global provider of effortless data management and data protection solutions across the data lifecycle, in partnership with Sphere 3D Corporation (TSX VENTURE: ANY), developer of Glassware 2.0™ technology, today announced they have developed the first integrated solution that delivers the full functionality of hardware, operating systems, and applications via the cloud to any device.

4) Nick Davies, EVP & GM Graphics, Digital Media & Productivity Software at Corel commented,

“We’re always looking for new ways to provide more flexibility and options to our users when purchasing and using Corel software. Working with Sphere 3D has opened up new possibilities to deliver Corel Office and PDF Fusion to users on devices other than the desktop. We’re looking forward to working further with the Sphere 3D team and expanding the different ways our users can access their productivity software.”

5) From Jacob Securities Report -

Corel Corporation

Founded in 1985 by Michael Copland, Corel is a leading PC software company based in Ottawa, Canada. Some of the key applications owned by Corel include WordPerfect, still utilized in the legal and government sectors, and Roxio.
We understand that Corel has ~100 million active users across 75 countries and is considered a leader in some of the market categories.
In our opinion, the Corel partnership provides Sphere 3D with instant validation for the Glassware 2.0 platform and provides a significant revenue-generation opportunity based on the existing Corel subscriber base and lack of a mobility function and Mac availability among the current Corel portfolio. We note that Corel has ~79% of the PC-based non-Microsoft Office productivity market, and ~12% penetration in U.S. PC homes.
