The bearish argument against ABBV is that with these results they do not have a credible "natural" positioning strategy in the market and will need to compete more heavily on price.
I just need some clarification. Did you mean to say GILD doesn't have a positioning strategy? I thought this was an inadvertent error so I didn't question it. GILD has the issue of keeping Sofo/Riba pricing at a premium while competing on price with ABBV using the more complex Sofo/Ledi combo in GT1.
