Wednesday February 1, 10:09 am ET
NEW YORK and RA'ANANA, Israel, February 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SuperCom Ltd. (OTCBB: SPCBF.OB; Euronext: SUP), a leading provider of smart card and electronic identification (e-ID) solutions, today announced that R. James Woolsey, former Director of Central Intelligence and one of America's preeminent authorities on security issues, will be Chairman of the Company's newly created Advisory Board.
The Advisory Board was established to enhance SuperCom's presence in the United States and other nations, and to help identify new applications for the company's technologies in the homeland security, defense and document authentication markets.
In an era when both government and the private sector are faced with unprecedented challenges to protect public safety and personal privacy, the Advisory Board will serve to extend SuperCom's forward-looking technologies into the U.S. market.
Woolsey will be joined on the Board by other distinguished Americans with experience in national security issues. Additional Board members will be announced in the near future.
"It's a great pleasure to welcome Mr. Woolsey as Chairman of our Advisory Board," said Avi Schechter, Chief Executive Officer of SuperCom. "Jim has a long and distinguished record of public service and unsurpassed expertise in security matters, government policy and world affairs. We especially look forward to working with him and other Board members for advice on corporate governance, recruitment, and best practices."
"SuperCom is a world leader in security technology," Woolsey said. "I welcome the opportunity to work with such an innovative company, committed to finding and implementing real-world applications for cutting-edge technologies. The need to bring to market these types of security initiatives is great and growing."
R. James Woolsey
R. James Woolsey is widely recognized - in government, business, the media and academia - as one of the nation's leading experts on foreign affairs, defense, energy, critical infrastructure protection and resilience, and intelligence.
