Mexicans tend to be an admixture of Spanish and native Americans, no doubt. This is also true of much of South America. Caribbean peoples are largely black, as well as native and European. There were far more Africans in the islands than any other people. In all these places though you find European groups, often elites which tend to remain mostly if not exclusively white as it were. I have a neighbor of Mexican extraction and he's clearly European. (and let's not forget, France also occupied Mexico for a while).

Now as to America being descended of Mexico or Indians. Certainly large parts of the west were the purview of Spain for a long time. But I'd have to disagree that "America was most certainly of Mexican descent". I live in the Northeast. There's not much Mexican influence in the Eastern States, not much really between here and the Rockies.

But to the original point. George Zimmerman's a white guy. I don't care where he hails from.

Hey this guy was the President of Peru, and no one's ever claimed that he was Hispanic.
