the highest state tax is 13.6% for the highest income earners. top fed is nominally about 39% but the bullshitter must have forgotten (or clearly isn't aware) that the average state tax for states with professional baseball teams is much less.... and that state taxes are deductible on the federal return, so the 39% of his gross income would never be paid on federal taxes in the first place. particularly since the fantasy income of $425,000 is only taxed at 35% and not 39.6%, as $425,00 just happens to be (coincidently, i suppose) the break point between 35% and the higher top rate.
