fuagf -- those can make my machine jumpy as well if I don't give 'em the time they need to load before commencing to move around in them -- usually behave themselves pretty well if they've first been allowed to load fully

one other thing I've noticed: if one tab in particular has been open for a long time and has been through many many pages/page views (for me, the first tab in my first window displaying, what else, this board, used for going through the posts, searching, you name it), it can help to reopen what's in that tab/window in a new/fresh one every so often, and close the one that's been open -- especially if that tab/window has been used to open one or more of my overstuffed specials -- I think that may help free up memory that can get tied up with/keeping track of the tab/window that had been through all those pages/page views
